Surrey Workshop + Film Screening

May 26, 2014 – Last week, Surrey Public Library invited us to show The Good Life – The Green Life as part of Village Surrey’s Movie Night series. We had a great discussion after the film about understanding the links between the transformations we need in our personal lives and in our communities to deal with climate change.

Also on the agenda for the evening was a Community Shift Workshop led by CCPA Engagement Facilitator Tina Barisky. In this workshop, participants had a chance to envision their idea of a good green life, and start to brainstorm simple steps to get there. We identified two projects that participants wanted to start in their community and we tried to think about the tools and resources we had among us to get these projects going.

You can have these types of conversations in your community too! If you’d like to host a film screening of The Good Life – The Green Life (small or large, at an event or in your living room), we’ve got tools to help. We may even be able to send out a facilitator to guide the discussion. To connect, visit the Learn + Act page or email us at [email protected].
